Seraphim O’Keefe has been creating icons and church art since 2002. He began his studies in iconography while living in a monastery in the Republic of Georgia. He started working full-time as an iconographer in 2010. In 2012 he was invited to paint the walls of Holy Cross Orthodox Church in Linthicum, MD. He completed the project in 2014 and moved to Midlothian, VA to paint the sanctuary of St. Cyprian Orthodox Church.
Seraphim originally apprenticed and worked as a fine artist from 2000 – 2009 under teachers in Russia and Georgia. His paintings have been displayed in shows and galleries in the US, Russia, and Georgia. During the years 2008 – 2010, Seraphim also created and published full-color comics in the MOME journal (under the name Conor O’Keefe). He continues to work in both genres when he has time.
